The New England Center for Rational Emotive and Cognitive Behavior Therapy is based in Portland, Maine and northeastern Connecticut. It is an Affiliated Training Center of The Albert Ellis Institute in New York City. We provide a range of training opportunities for students and professionals including multiple day practica certificate programs, one day workshops, consultations, and ongoing supervision.
Counseling services are also available for the general public in Portland, Maine and northeastern Connecticut.
Catharine MacLaren, Ph.D., LCSW, CEAP is the Center Director. She completed the Clinical Fellowship of The Albert Ellis Institute and is a certified trainer and supervisor in Rational Emotive and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. She was the Training Coordinator and the Associate Executive Director of The Albert Ellis Institute. She has been providing workshops and trainings in REBT/CBT since 1995.
